Costs

What affects the cost of Avigilon access control?

The price depends on your doors and how you want to manage them, so we survey first. These are the main factors.

  • Number of doors

    Biggest factor

Every controlled door needs a reader, a lock and a way out, plus cabling and set-up time. Controlling the doors that matter, rather than every door, keeps the cost down.

  • Existing equipment

    Varies

If your site already runs Avigilon access control, we check what you have and what can be kept before we quote.

  • Door hardware and entrances

    Site specific

Existing doors may need new locks or closers, and busy entrances may suit turnstiles rather than a single door.

  • Network and IT integration

    If required

Linking the system to your existing databases and IT systems, or setting up remote access, adds design and commissioning time.

  • Working with CCTV

    Optional

Designing access control alongside Avigilon CCTV is simpler when both are planned together from the start.

  • Maintenance

    Ongoing

A maintenance contract includes a full check twice a year as standard, plus remote support and a 24-hour service line.

Avigilon access control

Browser-based access control for business

Avigilon access control lets you decide who can open which doors, and when, and change it quickly when people join, leave or move. Avigilon's access control platforms are flexible and can be adapted as your business changes.

All of Avigilon's access control products are browser based, so there is no software to install on your computers. You manage users, doors and permissions from a web browser, and with remote access set up you can do it from virtually any location over the internet.

Management and control

An access control system is only as good as how easily you can keep it up to date, so we set up users, doors and permissions with you before we hand over.

Manage it from anywhere

Add and remove users, change permissions, run a backup or apply an update from a browser, wherever you are, and respond to an incident straight away.

Role-based permissions

The Access Control Manager is role based, so staff, contractors and visitors only reach the areas their role needs, and permissions can be managed centrally.

Already have an Avigilon system? We service, maintain and take over systems installed by other companies.

Avigilon systems we work with

Avigilon Access Control Manager (ACM) systems

Avigilon Access Control Manager (ACM) is a role-based, browser-based access control system for sites that need higher levels of security.

As certified Avigilon installers, we look at your doors, your users and your IT, and design the system around them.

Existing ACM Embedded systems

Sites with older Avigilon systems

Avigilon stopped selling the ACM Embedded Controller in 2022, and support ended in June 2026. If your site still runs one, we can check it and advise on the upgrade options.

What it does

What Avigilon access control does for your business

Access control is about more than locking doors. It decides who gets in, where they can go and how quickly you can change that.

These are four common reasons businesses choose it.

Control who goes where

Give each person or role access to the doors they need, at the times they need them, and nothing more.

Best for: sites with staff-only areas, stores or rooms holding valuable equipment.

Worth knowing: planning roles before installation makes the system far easier to run.

Manage from any browser

No software to install. Program the system, run backups and apply updates from a web browser.

Best for: businesses where the person managing access is not always on site.

Worth knowing: remote access runs over your network, so we plan it with your IT team.

Adapt as you grow

Avigilon access control can be adapted to the changing needs of your business as teams, doors and buildings change.

Best for: growing businesses and sites that change layout.

Worth knowing: planning for future doors at the design stage keeps later changes simple.

Work with your other systems

The Access Control Manager can integrate with your existing databases and IT systems, and can be designed alongside Avigilon CCTV.

Best for: organisations with an IT team or HR database to keep in step.

Worth knowing: tell us what you already run at the survey so the design can take it into account.

Local to you

Avigilon access control across Cambridgeshire and East Anglia

We are a Cambridgeshire business with local engineers, providing responsive maintenance and long-term support for the access control systems we install.

Areas we cover

We install and maintain Avigilon access control across Cambridgeshire and East Anglia, including Cambridge, Huntingdon, Peterborough, St Ives, St Neots, Ely, Wisbech, March, Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds.

Our engineers are local to the region, and we also work with national clients across the UK.

Sectors we work in

We install and maintain access control for premises including offices, retail premises, warehouses, pharmaceutical sites and sports facilities.

Each sector has its own priorities, from staff-only areas to contractors and visitors coming and going. We design around how the site is actually used.

“Advance Security has been our security systems installer and maintainer for the last 16 years. Our site has developed massively in that time and the security requirements have grown accordingly. We have Access Control Systems covering some 130 entrance doors across three offices in the UK and Advance has been instrumental in ensuring they were delivered to meet our demanding deadlines. Our CCTV system was recently brought up to the latest high definition IP platform, and again Advance Security were there to provide the transition, ensuring the minimum down time. I would have no hesitation in recommending Advance Security, they have a can-do attitude, and are always on call at a moment’s notice when we need them – any faults being resolved or repaired the same day.”
