Costs
What affects the cost of an Avigilon CCTV system?
No two sites cost the same to cover, which is why we survey before we quote. These are the things that move the price.
Number of cameras and what they need to see
Biggest factor
Each camera adds equipment, mounting and cabling. Deciding what each one needs to do, such as identifying people at a door or watching over a car park, keeps the number down.
On-premises or cloud
Site specific
An on-premises system records to equipment at your site. A cloud system has no on-site server and is managed online, with an ongoing subscription. We explain the trade-offs for your site.
Recording and storage
Varies
How long you need to keep footage, and at what quality, sets how much recording capacity the system needs.
Cabling and the building
Site specific
Existing network cabling, long cable runs, external mounting and work at height all affect installation time.
Integration
If required
Linking CCTV to access control or intruder alarms adds set-up and testing time, and makes it quicker to check what happened when an event is logged.
Maintenance
Ongoing
A maintenance contract includes a full check twice a year as standard, keeping cameras clean, focused and recording.

Avigilon CCTV systems
On-premises and cloud Avigilon CCTV
Avigilon offers two ways to run a CCTV system. Avigilon Unity is an on-premises platform, with footage hosted locally at your site and video security and access control brought together in one system. Avigilon Alta is cloud-based and serverless, managed online, and can connect to existing video security hardware using Avigilon Cloud Connectors.
We install both, and we will recommend whichever suits your site best. Our guide to IP CCTV and cloud CCTV explains the differences.

Viewing and control
CCTV is only useful if the right people can see what they need, so we set up user access and alerts before we hand over.
Remote and mobile viewing
Authorised users can view live and recorded footage from a phone or computer, and receive alerts when the system flags an event.
Linked to your other systems
Avigilon CCTV can be linked to access control and alarms, so a door event or alarm activation can be checked against the video.
Not every site needs cloud CCTV. Where an on-premises system does the job we will say so.
Why Avigilon
Avigilon CCTV, installed and supported locally
Avigilon systems combine high-definition cameras with AI-powered video management software, including search tools that help find a person or vehicle of interest across a whole site, or across several sites.
Our engineers know the Avigilon equipment they commission and can support it after installation.
AI video search
Find footage faster
Avigilon analytics help you find a person or vehicle across your site, instead of scrolling through hours of recordings.
Avigilon cameras
The camera and video range
We choose the right Avigilon camera for each position at the survey. The range itself is covered on its own page.
Avigilon access control
Doors and video together
Avigilon also makes access control, and Avigilon Unity brings video and access control together in one system.
Our Avigilon services
What we do for your Avigilon CCTV system
From the first survey to long-term support, one local team looks after the whole system.
Whether you need a new installation, an upgrade or support for a system another company fitted, we can take it on.
Design
A survey of the site, then camera positions, recording, storage and software planned around what you need to see and your budget.
Best for: new premises, refurbishments and sites with no CCTV.
Worth knowing: each camera is planned around what it needs to do, not a set number per building.
Installation and commissioning
Cameras installed, cabled, configured and tested against the design, with users set up and your team shown how to find and export footage.
Best for: new systems and replacements.
Worth knowing: installations are carried out under our SSAIB certification.
Integration
Avigilon CCTV linked to access control and intruder alarms, so events on one system can be checked on another.
Best for: sites with controlled doors, gates or alarms.
Worth knowing: integration is planned at the design stage, so it is worth mentioning your other systems at the survey.
Maintenance and support
Planned maintenance with a full check twice a year as standard, remote support and diagnostics, and a 24-hour emergency technician call-out, 365 days a year.
Best for: any business that relies on its recordings.
Worth knowing: we also service, maintain and take over CCTV systems installed by other companies.

How an Avigilon installation works
Quotations start with a free site visit. We look at the site, what needs to be seen and where, then design the system to suit the site and the budget rather than quoting blind.

Avigilon CCTV installed under our SSAIB certification
Our CCTV installations are carried out under our SSAIB certification, which covers CCTV, access control and intruder alarms. Using CCTV at work also brings data protection responsibilities, such as signage and how long footage is kept, so we plan camera positions and recording settings with those in mind and can talk them through at the survey.

“Advance Security has been our security systems installer and maintainer for the last 16 years. Our site has developed massively in that time and the security requirements have grown accordingly. We have Access Control Systems covering some 130 entrance doors across three offices in the UK and Advance has been instrumental in ensuring they were delivered to meet our demanding deadlines. Our CCTV system was recently brought up to the latest high definition IP platform, and again Advance Security were there to provide the transition, ensuring the minimum down time. I would have no hesitation in recommending Advance Security, they have a can-do attitude, and are always on call at a moment’s notice when we need them – any faults being resolved or repaired the same day.”
