Overview

2N Fortis Handle supply and installation

The 2N Fortis Handle is a modern wireless electronic door handle designed for access control and door entry systems in commercial environments. It gives you secure door access control without cabling, which makes it ideal for internal doors where a traditional wired system would be difficult or expensive to install.

BDi Advance supplies and installs the 2N Fortis Handle as part of access control and door entry systems, for organisations that want to improve building security and manage who can go where.

  • Wireless and battery powered, so there is no cable to run to the door
  • Encrypted 13.56 MHz MIFARE DESFire cards and fobs
  • Permissions and schedules managed centrally in 2N Access Commander
  • Fitted as a new system or as an upgrade to an existing door entry system

2N Fortis Door Handle

Is it right for your doors?

When a wireless access control door handle makes sense

The Fortis Handle is one part of an access control system, not a replacement for all of it. These are the points we look at before recommending it.

  • Internal doors without cabling

    Main use

It suits internal doors where running cable to a reader and lock would be disruptive or expensive, such as meeting rooms, management offices, staff rooms and IT rooms.

  • Your cards and fobs

    MIFARE DESFire

The handle reads 13.56 MHz MIFARE DESFire credentials. If your site already uses a different card type, we check compatibility at the survey.

  • How access is managed

    2N Access Commander

Permissions, schedules and credentials for the handle are managed in 2N Access Commander.

  • Battery and upkeep

    CR123A

A CR123A battery supports up to 230,000 openings, typically around four years depending on how busy the door is.

  • Main entrances and the wider building

    Full system

For main entrances and multi-site control, we design a full access control system and advise where wireless handles fit into it.

2N Fortis Handle

Professional access control. Wireless simplicity.

The Fortis Handle combines durable stainless-steel construction and support for RFID credentials in a clean, modern design, so businesses can manage door access easily without changing the look of the door.

It gives you a flexible way to extend RFID door access control and keyless door entry across offices, education facilities and commercial buildings.

2N Fortis Door Handle Security

Secure RFID door access control

The Fortis Handle supports encrypted MIFARE DESFire RFID credentials, which use strong encryption to help prevent cloning or unauthorised copying of cards.

Keyless door entry

Staff use a card or fob instead of a key, so there are no keys to lose, copy or collect when someone leaves.

Central control of who goes where

Administrators can grant, update or revoke access as needed, keeping full control over authorised users.

Not every door needs a wireless handle. Where a wired reader is the better option, we will say so.

Centralised access management

Managed with 2N Access Commander

Access permissions, schedules and credentials for the Fortis Handle are managed in the 2N Access Commander platform.

That lets you control door access across multiple doors and locations from one central system.

One platform

Doors, users and schedules

Permissions and schedules are set in 2N Access Commander, so adding a user or changing their access is done once, not door by door.

Local to you

2N Fortis Handle installation across Cambridgeshire and East Anglia

We are a Cambridgeshire business with local engineers, providing responsive maintenance and long-term support for the access control systems we install.

Areas we cover

We install and support the 2N Fortis Handle and wider access control systems across Cambridgeshire and East Anglia, including Cambridge, Huntingdon, Peterborough, St Ives, St Neots, Ely, Wisbech, March, Newmarket and Bury St Edmunds.

Our engineers are local to the region, and we also work with national clients across the UK.

Sectors we work in

We fit the Fortis Handle for organisations including commercial offices, schools and colleges, healthcare premises and shared workspaces.

  • Offices
  • Education
  • Healthcare
  • Shared workspaces

Each building has its own priorities, from securing a single IT room to controlling access across every internal door. We design around how the site is actually used.

“Advance Security has been our security systems installer and maintainer for the last 16 years. Our site has developed massively in that time and the security requirements have grown accordingly. We have Access Control Systems covering some 130 entrance doors across three offices in the UK and Advance has been instrumental in ensuring they were delivered to meet our demanding deadlines. Our CCTV system was recently brought up to the latest high definition IP platform, and again Advance Security were there to provide the transition, ensuring the minimum down time. I would have no hesitation in recommending Advance Security, they have a can-do attitude, and are always on call at a moment’s notice when we need them – any faults being resolved or repaired the same day.”
