Overview

i-PRO CCTV camera solutions

Through our partnership with i-PRO, BDi Advance designs, installs and maintains i-PRO CCTV camera systems for businesses across Cambridgeshire and East Anglia. i-PRO, formerly Panasonic's security camera business, builds AI analytics into its cameras, so detection runs on the camera itself rather than relying on a separate server. Whether you are securing commercial or industrial premises, we choose each camera for its position, its lighting and what you need to see.

  • Local engineers based in Huntingdon, covering Cambridgeshire and East Anglia
  • Installation carried out under our SSAIB certification for CCTV
  • i-PRO cameras with AI analytics built in, from entry-level models upwards
  • Milestone XProtect video management software where a site needs it
  • Live and recorded footage on your phone, plus remote support and diagnostics from our team
  • We also service, maintain and take over CCTV systems installed by other companies

Costs

What affects the cost of an i-PRO CCTV system?

No two sites cost the same to cover, which is why we survey before we quote. These are the things that move the price.

  • Number of cameras and what they cover

    Biggest factor

Each camera position adds equipment, cabling and set-up time. Planning coverage around entrances, car parks and stock areas, rather than every corner, keeps the cost down.

  • Camera type

    Varies

Fixed dome and bullet cameras cost least. PTZ, 360-degree fisheye and multi-sensor cameras cost more each, but one can cover an area that would otherwise need several.

  • Resolution and analytics

    Site specific

Higher resolutions such as 4K, and the AI analytics you need, decide which i-PRO model suits each position.

  • Recording and software

    Varies

Footage can be recorded on a network video recorder or managed in Milestone XProtect. How long you keep footage sets the storage needed, and i-PRO's AI smart coding helps by using less data on the background.

  • Cabling and access

    Site specific

Cable routes back to the recorder, and cameras mounted at height or on poles, add installation time.

  • Maintenance

    Ongoing

Our maintenance contracts include a full check twice a year as standard, with remote support and diagnostics in between.

i-PRO technology

What i-PRO cameras do

i-PRO builds its cameras around six core technologies: edge AI, an open platform, built-in cyber security, product reliability for harsh environments, reduced bandwidth and ease of installation.

Because the AI runs on the camera, i-PRO cameras can detect people, vehicles, faces and bicycles, recognise when a scene has changed, and mask faces in real time for privacy. AI smart coding gives more data to important objects such as people and cars and less to the background, which reduces the load on your network and storage. Applications from i-PRO's partners can be added to the camera for specific jobs.

Viewing and control

CCTV is only useful if the right people can see the footage when they need it, so we set up viewing and alerts before we hand over.

Footage on your phone

The i-PRO Mobile app shows live and recorded video from your cameras and recorder, and displays alarm notifications, wherever you are.

Linked to your other systems

We can link your CCTV with the access control and intruder alarms we install, so an event at a door or an alarm activation is recorded on camera.

Not every camera needs AI analytics. Where a standard camera does the job we will say so.

Cameras and software

i-PRO cameras with Milestone XProtect

We install i-PRO cameras and, where a site needs one system to manage many cameras, Milestone XProtect video management software.

i-PRO provides integration for XProtect, including its Active Guard plug-in, which adds AI object detection to XProtect.

Edge AI cameras

Analytics on the camera

i-PRO has introduced edge AI to all its security camera lines, and even its entry-level U-series can detect intruders, loitering, direction, line crossing and speeding.

What is AI CCTV?

Milestone XProtect

Video management software

Milestone XProtect brings i-PRO cameras, recording and AI detection into one system, which suits larger and multi-site installations.

Milestone XProtect

Cyber security

Built in, not added on

i-PRO says its products are built with cybersecurity by design, and its U-series cameras meet FIPS 140-3 level 3 with a secure element and secure boot.

Commercial CCTV systems

Camera types

Types of i-PRO camera

The right camera depends on what each position needs to see, how far away and in what light.

i-PRO makes cameras in several formats, and most sites use a mix of these four.

Dome and bullet cameras

Fixed cameras for entrances, corridors, car parks and perimeters, with resolutions up to 4K.

Best for: most everyday positions, inside and out.

Worth knowing: a fixed camera covers one view, so positions are planned at the survey.

PTZ cameras

Pan, tilt and zoom cameras that can be moved and zoomed remotely, and i-PRO has brought AI to its PTZ range.

Best for: large open areas such as yards and car parks.

Worth knowing: a PTZ camera only records where it is pointing, so it is usually paired with fixed cameras.

360-degree fisheye cameras

A single camera that gives a full panoramic view of a room or open space.

Best for: shop floors, open-plan offices and warehouses.

Worth knowing: detail at the edge of the image is lower than from a camera aimed at one spot.

Multi-sensor cameras

Several camera sensors in one housing, giving the view of multiple cameras from a single mounting point.

Best for: building corners, junctions and wide perimeters.

Worth knowing: one mounting and cable run replaces several, which can reduce installation work.

SSAIB certified CCTV installers

Our CCTV installations are carried out under our SSAIB certification, which covers CCTV, intruder alarms and access control. SSAIB is a UKAS-accredited certification body. Some insurers set requirements for camera coverage or recording, so if yours has, share them with us before the survey and we will build them into the camera plan.

Edge AI earns its place where there is a lot to watch, from yards and car parks out of hours to busy entrances. We design around how the site is actually used.

“Our CCTV system was recently brought up to the latest high definition IP platform, and again Advance Security were there to provide the transition, ensuring the minimum down time. I would have no hesitation in recommending Advance Security, they have a can-do attitude, and are always on call at a moment's notice when we need them – any faults being resolved or repaired the same day.”

Frequently asked questions

i-PRO cameras run AI analytics on the camera itself, which i-PRO calls edge AI, and i-PRO has introduced it to all its security camera lines. Combined with high-quality imaging and built-in cyber security, that makes them suitable for commercial, industrial and public environments.
